Decreased alcohol consumption was found after subjects who screened positive for possible alcohol abuse received a brief intervention, treatment referral, and 6-month follow-up. The authors describe their original screening tool.
Pay-for-performance (P4P) models generally reward physicians for providing improved care by meeting distinct quality measures. To determine the attitudes toward and preparation for P4P measures, primary care osteopathic physicians in small group practices were asked to complete a 20-item questionnaire. Survey results and data analysis are discussed.
