Data were collected on students' perceptions regarding the social acceptability of body piercing, their experiences with and attitudes toward this form of body art, and their knowledge of associated health risks.

Curricular development of the problem-based learning pathway program at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Erie, Pa, is described. The college's longitudinal database will eventually allow medical educators at LECOM to conduct comparative outcomes-based research for the three preclinical learning pathways available at that institution.
