About the Cover: As depicted, a home treadmill plus an infant or young child can equal injury, especially to the fingers and hands. Beginning on page 372, Mazen I. Abbas, DO, MPH, H. Brent Bamberger, DO, and Rick W. Gebhart, DO, describe such an injury in a 2-year-old boy to illustrate the means and possible outcome of these types of injuries. The authors also present a review of injury data for children 5 years and younger that were compiled by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. This article is intended to alert physicians of the potential harm and complications of injuries that can result from home treadmills.
